BENGALURU: Bengaluru police have registered an FIR following allegations of irregularities related to the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in the Malleswaram Assembly constituency, officials said on Sunday.The FIR was registered against G S Vasanthalakshmi – believed to be associated with the BJP – on October 2 based on a complaint from Anoop Iyengar, a Congress leader.Police have invoked BNS sections 319(2) (cheating by personation), 336(2) (forgery), 340(2) (forged document or electronic record and using it as genuine), 61(2)(b) (criminal conspiracy) and 217(b) (false information, with intent to cause public servant to use his lawful power to injury of another person).Iyengar told the police that at polling stations in Ward 64, he was informed that Form 7 applications were submitted showing voters as persons who had shifted residence or were otherwise ineligible to be on the electoral rolls.
