Thiruvananthapuram: The CPM in Kerala is again facing allegations of trying to suppress sexual assault complaints against a party leader.E N Suresh Babu, who was removed from Palakkad district secretary post the other day, allegedly faced sexual allegations from a woman advocate. There were reports that Babu was removed from the post owing to the woman’s complaint. But the party leadership is not admitting it.Congress camps have kicked off a campaign that the CPM was again trying to protect party leaders facing sexual allegations. They are also questioning the pro-women stand taken by former Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan when sexual allegations surfaced against former Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil.Real threat to country is RSS, not BJP, says KPCC chiefKerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) President and Power Minister Sunny Joseph alleged the CPM was trying to suppress the complaint against Babu by not handing over it to police. Earlier also they suppressed such complaints against party leaders, he said.While CPM state secretary M V Govindan rejected the reports of sexual allegation against Babu, party central committee member and former minister K K Shailaj said that she was not aware whether there was any such complaint Babu was replaced with former MLA V Chenthamarakshan as the Palakkad district secretary the other day. The move came amidst the corrective measures being taken by the party in view of the setback in the assembly elections.
