Bengaluru: The Bengaluru campuses of the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and the University of Liverpool (UOL) will offer degrees whose fees range between Rs 11.5 lakh and Rs 19 lakh for Indian students. The UNSW and UOL are functioning out of Manyata Business Park and Alembic City complex, respectively. While UNSW has closed admissions, the UOL is receiving applications until August 31. It has one master’s programme in Cyber Security. With 30 students per batch, Indian residents will be charged Rs 15 lakh per year for undergraduate programme. Fees for the postgraduate programme is Rs 19 lakh for resident Indians and Rs 22 lakh for non-resident Indians. The UOL is offering BSc (Hons) in Accounting and Finance, Biomedical Sciences, Computer Science, Software Development, Game Design and BA in Business Management. These subjects are available in postgraduate programmes, too. The annual fee structure at UOL ranges between Rs 11.5 lakh for undergraduate programmes and Rs 15 lakh for postgraduate programmes.Both universities say they will offer scholarships to eligible students.English language proficiency is a must for admissions into both universities. At UNSW, students have to prove  their proficiency if English is not their first language. UOL demands a minimum 70 per cent score in Class 12 English. In some cases, a test will be conducted.The UOL is the only foreign university offering Biomedical Sciences and Game Design programmes, an official said. “We are on track to meet targets for our initial intake. We have been particularly pleased with the response to the Biomedical Sciences programme, especially given that we have some long standing collaborations in this space in India, and it is a key area of research strength at the Liverpool campus,” the official said. Dubai-returning passenger held at Bengaluru airport with gold hidden in mouth UOL said it is receiving applications from “a diverse range” of student backgrounds. “Response has been strong from throughout India, with Karnataka and Bengaluru itself providing significant numbers of applicants, but we have also had interest from International students,” the official said. Four other foreign institutions –  Imperial College London, Lancaster University, La Trobe University and Flinders University – are planning to start operations in and around Bengaluru. Lancaster University has already received a letter of intent from the University Grants Commission to open a campus here.
