
Include syndicate members nominated
by Guv in varsity committees, VCs told
Bengaluru: Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has directed vice-chancellors of all state-run universities to include syndicate members nominated by him, in various committes of the varsities. “It has been brought to the notice of the Governor that, at certain universities, members of the syndicate nominated by the Governor are not being included in various statutory and administrative committees/ sub-committees, thereby limiting their participation in matters of institutional and administrative importance,” read the circular issued by the Governor to the VCs. MLC calls for release of grants for SC/ST students of University of Mysore "The VCs shall also ensure that syndicate members nominated by the Governor are duly included, wherever inclusion of such syndicate members is permissible under the statutory provisions, and provided an opportunity to participate in the proceedings of such committees," the circular adds.Β Β In fact, the VCs have been directed to review the composition of present statutory committees/ sub-committees, and if required, reconstitute them to ensure compliance with Governor’s directions.
