Mangaluru: Food safety officials from the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department conducted an inspection at the Blinkit online retail facility in Falnir Square in Hampanakatta, following a complaint from a consumer on Thursday. During the inspections, the officials found packets containing broken eggs and the facility’s storage room was sealed. Too weak, too strict: Govt’s food warning labels draw fire from all sidesA consumer lodged a complaint with the Minister for Health and Family Welfare U T Khader, after finding that the eggs purchased through the Blinkit online platform were broken and infested with worms.As a precautionary measure and to ensure cleaning and sanitisation of the food storage area, the storage room of the facility was closed and sealed.Officials said a notice will be issued to the Blinkit online retail facility, directing the management to provide an appropriate explanation.Further action will be taken based on the findings and the response submitted by Blinkit online retail facility.
