‘State will protest if Centre delays drought relief’

Raichur, dhns: The Centre must release the state’s share of drought relief, lest, the state may be forced to protest, said Urban Infrastructure Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah.  “Issuing drought relief is not the responsibility of state government alone, but that of the central government also. Previously, the state had to knock the court’s door as the centre failed to release grant, despite the plea. If the ignorance is continued, the state will have to protest to earn its due,” said the minister, while speaking to mediapersons.Minister termed the BJP’s padayatra as a failure. It is just a political and publicity stunt, he remarked. Earlier, the goal of the BJP’s padayatra was to have Minister Nagedra’s resignation. But, even before they went on padayatra, Nagendra had resigned. Hence, the BJP’s padayatra is just a political show, he said.
