Bengaluru: A 38-year-old police officer lost Rs 57,000 after allegedly falling for a Facebook advertisement offering a Maruti Swift at a low price.The Hulimavu resident told Electronics City police that he came across the post on June 30 and contacted the seller, who promised to send the car from Delhi after receiving an advance.Udupi: Man loses Rs 32.68 lakh in investment scamThe officer transferred Rs 57,000 to the accused’s bank account, after which the seller became unreachable and the Facebook post was deleted.The officer then contacted the cybercrime helpline 1930, following which the beneficiary account was frozen.He filed a formal complaint on Saturday seeking recovery of the money. Further investigation is underway.
