Cabinet approves grid plans to build ring roads in taluks

Bengaluru: The Cabinet on Wednesday decided to formulate a network grid plan to form ring roads in every taluk that bypass the town.NHAI officials begin to clear trees at Bengaluru-Mysuru ring road junctionAfter the Cabinet meeting, Deputy CM G Parameshwara said: “In many district and taluk headquarters, roads go inside the towns. So, we are forming ring roads in 172 local project areas. This will include the entire state (in) two-tier and three-tier towns. There is 46% urbanisation in Karnataka. So, we need to provide these conditions. We will also create impact zones 1-2 km next to these roads, where houses cannot be built.”“You may have seen in Hyderabad; there is a 1-km zone where they cannot build houses. They have grown trees.”
