
‘Naxals’ demand Rs 5 lakh from Pavagada villager
Pavagada (Tumakuru district): A farmer in Gangasagara village of Pavagada taluk has received a letter in the name of Naxals, asking him to pay Rs 5 lakh to meet legal expenses.The letter in Telugu is addressed to a farmer by name Nagabhushana. It says that an advocate needs to be paid money for rendering help to Venkatesh, an accused in the recent crude bomb explosion case.Neither a cockroach, nor a Dimagi Naxal, yet… The letter warns of “serious consequences” if the farmer did not pay up or inform the police. The letter was found pasted to the entry gate of a farm land.The letter says that the money must be delivered to Subbarayappa (aka Chandrappa), an advocate from Kanikalabande village, before September 16. It mentions the name “Peoples War Janashakti Party – Devannadalam, Andhra Pradesh.”Nagabhushan has lodged a complaint with the police.
