New Delhi: Union Minister of Heavy Industries H D Kumaraswamy now has 14 more cows and 221 more sheep, Union Minister of Culture Gajendra Shekhawat has gifted a pistol to his wife, Minister of State for Skill Development Jayant Chaudhary’s crypto assets have increased and Union Minister of Jal Shakti C R Patil bought a Range Rover four months after he was sworn in as a Minister. These and many other interesting information form part of the latest asset declarations as on March 31 this year submitted by Ministers to the Prime Minister’s Office. Asset details of the Prime Minister and ministers, including that of spouse and dependents, are put in public domain every year.Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s assets have risen from Rs 3.43 crore to Rs 4.01 crore, including four rings he has been owning for some time. The rise in his assets is mainly due to the increase in fixed deposits from Rs 3.26 crore to Rs 3.79 crore.Some Ministers, an analysis of declarations showed, are unwilling to let go of their old vehicles: Nitin Gadkari still has his 1994-model Ambassador car while Shivraj Singh Chouhan has his 2000 model Ambassador with him. Patil bought a Range Rover worth Rs 2.95 crore on October 2, 2024. He also has a tractor and sports car bought earlier.Kumaraswamy’s asset declaration included details of livestock owned by him. The number of cows he owns has risen from 20 to 34 and sheep from 52 to 273 in 2025-26 valued at around Rs 12.54 lakh. Among other things, he also owns a treadmill while his wife Anitha got a diamond necklace in 2025-26. On the other hand, Jiten Ram Majhi’s livestock count has not risen and remains the same as in 2024-25 — four cows and three calves. Nityanand Rai is another Minister who has declared livestock — 14 cows and 10 calves and 12 buffaloes and nine calves.Rai has also declared having 4,638 mahogany, sheesham, mango, lichi and other trees, worth Rs 2.31 crore but six years ago, he owned 6,293 trees worth Rs 2.94 crore. Jayant Chaudhary along with his wife, Charu Singh, has shown an increase in their crypto currency assets — from Rs 43.46 lakh to Rs 45.62 lakh. They also have art, paintings and craft assets worth 2.39 crore.Kirtivardhan Singh owns a powered hang glider valued at Rs 18.48 lakh besides a pistol and a rifle. Shekhawat too owns a pistol and another firearm besides pistol, which he gifted to his wife three years ago.Jitin Prasada owns a hunting dagger worth Rs 25,000 besides a pistol, gun and a rifle along with his wife. Ministers like Rajiv Ranjan ‘Lalan’ Singh, Annapurna Devi, Kishan Pal, Savitri Thakur, Rai, SP Singh Baghel and BL Verma also have firearms, including double-barrel guns.
