Central Corpn chief inspects streetlights, roads & footpaths

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Central City Corporation (BCCC) Commissioner Jagadish G on Tuesday inspected roads, cleanliness and streetlights on St John’s Church Road and in areas around Ulsoor Lake and Shivajinagar. During the inspection, Jagadish directed officials to identify and repair all non-functional and defective streetlights immediately.”He further instructed the officials to ensure that adequate illumination reaches the public and to immediately prune and remove excessive tree branches obstructing the streetlights. He emphasised that streetlights must function effectively to ensure public safety and facilitate smooth movement of pedestrians and vehicles during night hours,” the BCCC said in a statement.SWR GM inspects coaching depot near KSR Bengaluru stationInspecting asphalting works on St John’s Cross Road, Jagadish instructed engineers to adhere strictly to prescribed quality standards and specifications.He also directed officials to remove abandoned vehicles from roadsides, prevent footpath encroachments and clear other obstructions.
