BNP’s ‘Freedom Walk’ targets Bengaluru’s bad roads

Bengaluru: The Bengaluru NavaNirmana Party (BNP) has launched ‘Freedom Walk’ across the city to highlight poor road conditions and demand accountability from civic authorities over the use of public funds.The initiative is part of the party’s ‘Freedom from Bad Roads and Misgovernance’ campaign, launched on Independence Day.Bengaluru turning into India’s AI & quantum computing capital: Innovation Report 2025Around 200 citizens have participated in walks covering Uttarahalli, Ring Road Junction near Sobha Jasmine Apartments, Agara Road near Mantri Sarovar Road, and Bank Colony bus stop.The party said the initiative aims to give citizens a platform to question the deterioration of Bengaluru’s roads and demand greater accountability in public spending.BNP founder and general secretary Srikanth Narasimhan said around Rs 20,000 crore is allocated annually, yet the city continues to struggle with poor roads. "Poor infrastructure is not merely an inconvenience; it can cost lives. Citizens should not have to repeatedly protest for basic infrastructure,” he said.
