
FIR over form 7: Ravi Patil says he committed no wrong
Belagavi: BJP leader Dr Ravi Patil appeared at the Market police station in Belagavi on Sunday for questioning in connection with an FIR over an alleged attempt to delete voter names from electoral rolls using Form 7 applications.Speaking to reporters after appearing before the police, Dr Patil said, “I was summoned by the police for questioning. I have appeared before them. I have committed no wrong.”“In Belagavi North Assembly constituency, I had submitted Form 7 and requested them to check the suspicious voters. I have not asked for the deletion of the votes of a particular community. We don’t have the power to do so. I have only objected to some confusion in the voters’ list. I have not done anything that will create tension in society,” said Dr Ravi PatilReplying to a query, Dr Patil, “It was the BJP workers who submitted Form 7, and not the staff of my hospital and the allegations are false and concocted.Case against BJP worker over form 7 to get voters deleted in Bengaluru’s MalleswaramA booth-level officer of the Ward 12 had filed a complaint against Dr Ravi Patil and others, alleging that they had attempted deleting 198 voters’ names from the electoral rolls using Form 7.Dr Patil had unsuccessfully contested Belgaum Uttar on a BJP ticket in the 2023 Assembly elections. He had lost to Congress’ Asif Sait by a margin of around 3,000 votes.
