Unusual community eventAs per experts, the internet has become a corner making space for the most unusual community events. This tournament brought together Charlie’s Animal Rescue Centre (C.A.R.E.), Fave ( a UPI app for money collection) and Emergent, an AI software creation platform used for creating a website for the competition where visitors could follow their favorite canine, participate in the race or simply watch how the event unfolds.Rooted in playfulness and in a shared love for the four legged residents of these cities, these contests are grabbing eyeballs and inviting significant engagement online.Obesity in dogsWhile the contest has become a rooting social event for dog lovers, it also highlights an understated problem.According to Pet MD, obesity in dogs is not merely a cosmetic issue but it can lead to serious health consequences in them and even premature death.Dogs that weigh at least 10 per cent above their normal body weight are considered obese, experts have said.Being unable to see the ribs or a waistline tucked inside the folds of the abdomen could be few signs of obesity in dogs, the Pet MD has stated. As per animal experts, obesity in dogs can bring dysfunction in their cardiovascular system, cause kidney problems or alter metabolism in a negative way, hence, shortening their lifespan by a significant margin.
