
Forest Dept to install net at lake amid crocodile concerns
Yellapur: The Forest Department has decided to install a protective net at Jodukere lake in the town, where crocodile sightings have periodically caused concern.The Ashok Naik Daring Team was called in on Saturday to search for and conduct a rescue operation for the crocodile. As Ganesha idols will be immersed in the lake during Ganesh Chaturthi, the net will be installed as a precaution to ensure public safety.Team members inspected both sides of the lake and monitored the crocodile movement. They confirmed that no movement had been noticed for the past 10 to 15 days and said there is currently no need to capture and relocate the crocodile.Uttar Kannada: 4-foot-long crocodile crocodile hatchling strays onto street in DandeliHowever, as large crowds gather near the Maruti temple during idol immersion, the team recommended installing a net as a precaution.
