Has HDK taken contract from RSS to target me?: Priyank

Bengaluru: Continuing to refute the allegations by Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy against him, Home Minister Priyank Kharge on Monday sought to know if Kumaraswamy had taken a contract from the RSS to target him.Speaking to reporters, Priyank said: “Union Minister Kumaraswamy has got used to speaking without documents and facts, and committing a ‘hit and run.’ He isn’t speaking the way a former chief minister and a current Union minister should. There is news that he went to the RSS office recently. He may have got a contract there. RSS and Amit Shah may have given a contract to target us and me.”Referring to the appointment of 24 Assistant Executive Engineers (AEEs) to the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj (RDPR) Department, which he headed till recently, the home minister noted that the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) had itself released the list of 24 AEEs, formed a three-member committee to look into allegations and a five-member committee later to look into the same.“Whose responsibility is it to conduct the exam? Is it RDPR’s?? On 22/02/2024, they wrote a letter asking the RDPR to withhold the final selection list. Instead of writing to us, as per the general recruitment rule, 2020, and as several courts have ruled, and as per their investigation report, which we got recently, they can nullify this report themselves. They could have initiated action. However, they did not take any action. Nor did they say anything about the report.”The Home Minister noted that the custodian of the OMR sheets was the KPSC itself.Priyank explained that the appointment order issued by the RDPR Department was conditional — pending the High Court’s final decision. “Several departments have also given conditional orders. What is illegal in this??? In these matters of KPSC, if my role is there either directly or indirectly, I am ready to take political retirement.”
