Mangaluru: Close on the heels of an internal audit revealing that TA/DA claim bills were based on false documents, a case was registered against Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) of NITK Prof P Johnson and Prof H Shivananda at Suratkal police station on Thursday.”Police have detained the duo and an internal investigation is underway to ascertain the extent of financial fraud and involvement of any others in this scam,” informed sources in NITK. National Cadets Corps (NCC), called “2 Kar Engr Coy NCC (Army Wing)”, has been functioning at NITK Surathkal since 1963. The Institute has appointed Dr Mohan Lal Meena, Assistant Professor in Department of Chemical Engineering, as NCC care taker officer in the place of ANOs.
