SSLC exam fee hiked by 5%

Bengaluru: Days after hiking the fee for the 2027 pre-university (PU) examinations, the Department of School Education and Literacy has increased the fee for the 2027 SSLC examination by 5% across the board. Consequently, the fee for freshers has risen from Rs 710 to Rs 746.  The Karnataka School Examination and Assessment Board issued a circular intimating all stakeholders about the hike in the SSLC examination fee.  “The fee has been hiked for students applying for the exam under all categories including repeaters, freshers and private candidates,” the circular reads.  In foolproof mode, Karnataka board to set papers for SSLC SA-1 examThe renewal fee for those who have already registered as private candidates and paid the examination fee has been increased from Rs 72 to Rs 76. While the examination fee for private fresher candidates has been raised from Rs 248 to Rs 260, the registration fee for one subject for repeaters (private candidates) has gone up from Rs 448 to Rs 470. Similarly, the registration fee for two subjects for private repeaters has been raised from Rs 559 to Rs 587, while the revised fee for three or more subjects is Rs 790 (up from Rs 752).  Incidentally, the department hiked the second-year PU examination fee by 50% last week.
