KSHDCL to launch new website to increase online handicrafts sale

Bengaluru: Karnataka State Handicrafts Development Corporation Limited (KSHDCL) will launch a new e-commerce portal during the upcoming Ganesh Chaturthi, aiming to increase annual online sales from Rs 70 lakh to Rs 5 crore within the next three years.The portal will showcase a wide range of Karnataka handicrafts on a single digital platform, including sandalwood, rosewood, Bidriware, Channapatna lacquerware, Kinhal toys, Mysore traditional paintings, Ganjifa art, metal crafts, handloom and textile products, the corporation said.Digital extensionThe upgraded portal will serve as a digital extension of Cauvery Handicrafts Emporium, connecting Karnataka’s artisans and their craftsmanship with a wider modern marketplace.Stone sculptures, e-commerce: Cauvery Emporium looks into unexplored avenues‘Customise Product’ facilityTo make the experience more customer-friendly, the website will have a ‘Customise Product’ facility. Customers will be able to submit specific requirements relating to size, design, colour, material, engraving, personalisation, quantity and packaging.“Our objective is to make Cauvery products more accessible and customer-friendly for buyers in India and overseas through the new e-commerce portal. In particular, the ‘Customise Product’ facility will create an effective bridge between customer requirements and the skills of our artisans,” said H R Rajappa, Managing Director, KSHDCL.
