Mandya: Water Resources Minister N Chaluvarayaswamy said a special petition would be submitted to Cauvery Water Regulation Committee (CWRC), to explain the status of water in Karnataka. Implementing the Mekedatu project is the only solution for the Cauvery issue, he said.Addressing a press conference, in Mandya, on Tuesday, he said, “Srirangapatna Dasara, which is ancient than Mysuru Dasara, will be celebrated in a traditional manner this year, rather than with grandeur, in view of the drought”.State has to respect court orders on Cauvery issue: Karnataka Water Resources MinisterPrecautionary measures are being taken to prevent drinking water problems during the summer, and water is being released from Hemavathi dam.
