Mumbai: Days after irregularities came into light vis-a-vis recruitment of Group-B Drug Inspectors of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Maharashtra Public Service Examination on Wednesday cancelled the process even as opposition parties alleged a scam.The decision to cancel the recruitment process was taken against the backdrop of a preliminary inquiry following complaints received about the malpractices in the screening test held on 22 March 2026, MPSC officials said.MPSC exams to be conducted in Marathi, says CM Fadnavis amid language rowThe fresh date of examination would be announced later.Meanwhile, FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe, when asked about it, said that it is in the purview MPSC and FDA has nothing to do with the examination process.The MPSC clarified that the decision to cancel the recruitment process has been made in order to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, transparency, and impartiality of the examinations organized by the examination body.Besides, keeping the candidates’ trust in the Commission intact is part of its mandate.For the re-examination, the concerned candidates will not need to apply again. Additionally, no fees will be charged for the re-examination.
