Hyderabad: At least 37 passengers had a narrow escape from a major mishap on NH 44 in the early hours of Friday, after the private travels bus they were travelling in was completely gutted by fire.The bus, headed from Bengaluru to Hyderabad, caught fire as it approached Midathuru village in Peddavadugur mandal of Anantapur district. Police officials have attributed the fire to a short circuit, and registered a case, launched an investigation into the incident.Peddavadugur Circle Inspector Narendra Reddy said the fire broke out around 2:50 am as the bus reached Midathuru on NH-44. The vehicle was completely gutted as a result. All 37 passengers on board managed to get off safely with their luggage before the flames spread.
